Today we were up early and off to Dingo Beach, just North of Airlie Beach to meet Steve, Mary, and Grace, the family we ran into in Alice Springs last school holiday. When we got there they were grilling up bacon and eggs and doing a traditional aussie brekkie for us; it was delicious! Dingo Beach was a great little town with an amazing beach just off the beaten path. Layla and Grace had a great time beachcombing for starfish, hermit crabs, and other various sea creatures that come out at low tide. We had a good visit with Steve and Mary (and of course Bindi). After breakfast we said good bye and headed back to Airlie so Layla could have one last swim at the pool with the waterslide and so Leanne could work on her paper before it was off to Strathdickie to Steve and Mary's for dinner. They have a beautiful home on the side of a hill that is surrounded by palm trees, vines, and natural wonder with an amazing view of the valley below. We had a few drinks and a great dinner and even got to see a tree frog and hear the geckos barking. It was a long day but very enjoyable to spend with such an amazing Aussie family. We are hoping we will make it back to this part of 'Straya in December. We'll see what happens! Layla fell asleep on the drive home and I got breathalysed and passed. Tomorrow we are off to check out Mission Beach and prepare for one more day out on the reef!
