Frustratingly we have to head back to the rental company for a new tyre and to grab a portaloo which will make the trip easier as we've had some unbelievable public toilet experiences over here - don't ask!
So they sort the tyre out and we make tracks for Dunedin stopping off on route. The sights are truly unbelievable as we drive south stopping for so many pics of the beautiful lakes, rolling hills and jagged mountain tops - it's genuinely like something out of a movie - Matt's making constant Lord of the Rings references and has a good grasp on imitating Sam from the Hobbit - too good.
Dunedin is beautiful, they are clearly big on Georgian and Edwardian architecture which is evident as soon as you drive into the city. We head for a campsite at the Bank Peninsula, it's a stunning windy drive with spectacular views of the city. By the time we get there they are out of spaces, there's only 5 so we did take a chance.
We moved on and found a lovely stop at a campsite for $27 including a kitchen and free laundry - hard to beat! Jacq finishes her book "sworn to silence" - pretty gruesome for her but a good read - she recommends ;) think the lack of TV and CSI has converted her to thriller novels.
