Today we are at Daly waters. After we set up we had lunch and had a swim,then at 5 o'clock we went to the beef n Barra BBQ and I had a massive burger. There were people singing until 9 o'clock. Last night we camped at the Devils Marbles. They we fun to explore. Today we are at Longreach waterhole it is just out of Elliot. It looks like long,wide river. It is full of bird life including kites, brolgas, ducks and pelicans. We were lucky to see a pare of brolgas. We swam in it, picked up freshwater muscles, got sea snails and pulled them out of their shells,pulled out all the weed from the water and put it on the bank. Today we are at gem tree. This morning we went and learnt how to fossick for garnets. We had to dig some were then put it in the civ then get all the dirt out of it and then w you wash it then you hold it up to the sun and pick the garnet out of it. We found SO MUCH and 32 were good enough to be cut. Tonight we are going to a camp oven dinner cooked at near the homestead.

Yesterday we went to the desert park. The Rangers told us about bush tucker, the tools they use to get them and how they make them. We also learnt about the environment and desert creatures. Before we left we went to watch the bird show. They had tamed birds that they made fly around while they told us about the bird. Today we went to the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The founder of it is John Flynn you can find a picture of him on the $20 note. It's good because it helps 1000s of people in Australia. It's got 61 big planes. After the tour we went to see John Flynn's grave. He was 71 when he died. After tea tonight we went to an astronomy talk and got to learn about the stars and planets. We got to see Jupiter through a telescope and three of its moons.
