Oort was only a 70km journey from Mysore, although we went through a few tiger/elephant reserves and also ascended to 2300m, and therefore mastering vicious hair pin bends. It took a total of 5hours to cover the 70km.
Once we arrived it was actually COLD!!! It was such an amazing feeling, like air conditioning the whole time we were there.
Ooty is famous for it's chocolate, and since we hadn't had any 'normal' chocolate since we both left it was a real treat.
We spent 4 lovely cold nights in Ooty and went horse riding, meat eating (less chance of getting I'll because it keeps better), chai drinking and exploring. Generally keeping as active as possible since the temperature allowed it.
On our last day here Hannah was pretty sick, so we decided not to travel since our next journey is going to be a long one.
A day of bed rest in the cool temperature and hannah was fighting fit the next day. We were shocked to see a dominoes pizza restaurant up here in small town 2300ft high in the middle of India, but shared one none the less.
The reason for horse riding was that the Indian horses are a very unique breed. They are leaner and are well developed for the heat, but most impressive is their ears, which, turn inward to one another making them look very pretty.
