Our friends Ewan and Angela came to visit a couple of weeks ago, so we decided to go for a drive in the vans. We didn't actually get very far, were going to go to Whakatane, but ended up just down the road at Maketu. Everyone (except me!) was going to go horseriding there on the beach, it's supposed to be really good. Unfortunately, as always seems to happen when we go camping, the weather took a turn for the worse and it was too windy and rainy to go! That night we stayed in the van playing cards, chatting, having a few drinks!! The wind and rain was unbelievable we didn't get much sleep. The next day we got up and watched the rugby world cup semi final... enough said. We got a famous maketu pie from the bakery, it was amazing! I got Lamb and Mint and Jack got Steak and Onion, yum!

On the way back we stopped off at Kiwi 360 in Te Puke which is a massive building shaped like a kiwi fruit... we were going to go on the kiwi train but it cost $25!!! I can think of better things to do with $25!!!

So apart from the weather, had a good weekend!
