We got the night train again to head to Goa. This train was the same, and we got into Goa early afternoon. There were another couple of backpackers heading to Arambol aswell, so we shared a taxi with them from the train station. Arambol wasn't quite what i expected, but i don't know what i was expecting! There is one big road that leads down to the beach that is lined with bars, restaurants and shops selling the same stuff that they sell everywhere! The beach is nice, but there is a lot of litter around. We found a cheap hotel near the beach, and near to the restaurants and bars aswell.
We have met a nice group of people, a german couple called Lucas and Hannah who we met in the queue at Mumbai train station, and 2 girls from England who are friends with one of Jack's friends. There are always a few more people around aswell who we meet along the way. There are a lot of Israeli people here, and we have learned that they like to go to the beach in their underwear (the men, they wear either their boxer shorts or speedo's - gross!) We've really just been going to the beach and eating here, so we decided to leave Arambol on Monday to go to Anjuna which is the next beach down. We took the local bus, which was packed but cheap. We had to make a change once at Mapusa to get to Anjuna, but the whole journey only took about an hour. We got to Anjuna and realised that it wasn't as nice as Arambol. We bumped into Lucas and Hannah in a restaurant there, as Lucas was getting a tattoo done that morning. Jack went to look for some accommodation but nothing looked good, and the town was dead so we decided to go back to Arambol! We didn't fancy taking the bus, and we were going back to Anjuna on the Wednesday anyway for the famous Wednesday flea market, so we hired a scooter for 3 days and rode back to Arambol with Lucas and Hannah. It's actually fairly easy to get 2 people and 2 backpacks on a scooter! We found a different room this time, and i just went to the beach again for the next few days, and jack went on some scooter adventures with John, a guy from England we'd met. On Wednesday we left Arambol for Anjuna again, to return the bike and go to the flea market.... see the Anjuna blog!!
