So we left Nelson on Saturday, on the way to Fernie but with the intention of breaking up the journey. We were going to stop in a place called Yahk, but when we got there it was so tiny that we changed our minds and kept driving. We came to a town called Cranford, with the intention of staying there but then decided to keep driving and go to Fernie as it was only another 100km away.

The drive was awesome, and we caught our first glimpse of the Rocky Mountains which just appeared along the road. we got to Fernie about 6pm - it is very quiet at the moment as their high season is winter. Fernie is beautiful, a big ski resort and is surrounded by the rockies. We met a couple from Salt Lake City and went out mountain biking with them the next day. We hired bikes but they had their own. On the first trail there was a sign at the beginning saying 'danger, bears in the area' but we kept going anyway as there was 4 of us we would be ok! We both kind of want to see one anyway! Unfortunately Jack's chain kept slipping on his bike so we headed back to the shop to sort it out. They couldn't see anything wrong with it and said it was fine, so we kept going but went another way. the bike kept doing the same thing, so Jack decided to turn back but I kept going with Josh and Rachel. They trail was really nice, the scenery is stunning. It was kind of overcast which was good as it was pretty hard work!

We have both been job hunting since we have been here and have some good news, that we both have jobs now which we start on Monday!!!! I will be working in Big Bang Bagels which is obviously a bagel and coffee shop! It's on the main street and looks like a fun place to work, i've met a few people who i will be working with. Jack is working for Nufloors which is a flooring company, he will be taking care of the warehouse, stock, purchase orders, driving a fork lift truck etc - quite a responsible job! We both start on Monday and are looking forward to it. It's quite good, we'll be working for the next 4 weeks then we're off to Florida for 2 weeks!!

So the next thing to get sorted out is some accommodation so we'll be getting on to that next week. Today we are heading to our friends in Lethbridge for the weekend, as it is Jack's birthday on Saturday so it will be fun to spend the weekend with them. Lethbridge is only 200km away so only a couple of hours drive there. We're getting back on Sunday night so we are ready for work the next day!

Just going to get some pictures on Nelson and Fernie on, will let you know how the weekend goes, and how work is going next week!
