Hello ladies and gentlemen. Today you are in for a real treat this has been written by Jack.
So the last Linsey wrote was on Saturday. That night we went out for a few jars and a boogie. As you can see from the pictures we went out with some of the people staying at the hostel. We went into one nightclub but it was a poor show, there was four old trollops dancing around there handbags so only stayed for one drink before moving on to the second nightclub known as Niteclub (hip dont you think?). That place was moving and shaking alot more than the other hovel so we stuck around. We left there at kick out time witch was a pathetic 2am and trotted on down to the store for pizza by the slice. It was in said store where i won not one but two teddies from the crane game. Some of the locals said they have never seen such raw talent for the crane. The next day until about 5pm we done nothing before going to the store for another slice and a drink.
On Monday we packed up our troubles in an old kit bag and smiled, smiled, smiled. Smiling cos the sun was shinning and we had a good drive ahead of us to Grand Forks. The drive was great we stopped at a town called Osoyoos about an hour down the road where a little birdy told us was the warmest lake in Canada. We threw on our swiming gear and went for a swim. It was not as warm as we thought it was going to be. We swam about for all of 5 mins before heading back to the car. After Osoyoos we continued to make our way to Grand Forks stopping for lunch at a really nice little spot near a small river. It was the usual helping of ham and laughing cow that fueled us for the rest of the drive. In that part of the drive we went through a nice little town called Greenwood where the slogan was 'If you like the old west, you will love Greenwood'. There was an area of the town that was inside of an old wooden fort looking like it was right out of an old spaghetti western. We got to Grand Forks about 2ish and found an amazing little motel called Riverside which was only $50 a night and would you adam and eve it, right by the side of the river. The room was great had a tv, aircon, on sweet bathroom and loads of space. We went for a walk along the river were we saw a deer, a female deer, ray a drop of golden sun, me a name i call myself....... sorry, back to the river which the deer was drinking out of. We tried to go for a swim in the water but it only got as deep as our knees so we settled for a wade. For dinner we got a drive thru burger from A&W. Its like burger king but without all the driping mess from those burgers. I got a rootbeer to drink as A&W are the leading rootbeer firm. Took it back to the room where we shovelled it in to our norths and watched tv.
So we left Grank Forks in the morning and beelined for Nelson. The drive was another classic British Columbian drive. Huge hills and huge trees. We actualy climbed to 5500ft. Nelson is really nice, the town has a great feel to it really laid back and relaxed. Our first day here we just wandered around Baker Street, looking in all the shops. In the evening we meet a Dutch guy in the hostel who also had a Nintendo DS so we spent the evening playing Mario Cart. Since we have been here we have been relaxing at the beach going for walks and drives. We went to an all you can eat fish and chip joint but disgracefully we couldnt even finsh the first basket!! We went back to the hostel and cried ourselves to sleep.
We are leaving tomorrow and heading east towards Fernie but will stop at a motel on the way to break up the drive.
We will update you from Fernie.
And thats how for now. xx
