We are in Akaroa witch is a little french town just south of Christchurch. It was our first night in the van witch was nice.
One day we went to a beach, but on the way there we had to go through a farm and a paddock of cows so they were all crowding around the car looking at us like hunter does when he wants to play. One even took a couple of backwards steps so we couldn't go anywhere! On the way back we had go through sheep that were on the road so we beeped the horn and the sheep jumped everywhere, some even went over the cliff! We then had meat pies and found a skatepark to have a go in.
Well so today is the grand final of the rugby world cup!!! Well we had a full English breakfast that dad and Gary cooked so we had plenty of fuel for a long walk. We went and found a walking track called cloud farm and it was so cloudy we couldn't see anything, afterwards Gary took us to Okaines Bay Maori and Colonial museum. They had a big Albatross and really big canoes, they also had lots of Maori artifacts to look at. We went to a really nice cafe and ordered brownies and pies but we were so hungry we ate our brownies first! And it was time to get ready for the game. Mum put a tattoo of the all blacks fern on my face! We walked down the hill to the pub for tea and to watch the game. It filled up so there was standing room only. I gave my seat to an old lady and her husband bought me a bag of sweets to say thanks. It was very cool to be in New Zealand when the all blacks won! People were very happy some were even crying! Weirdos!!!
The next morning we went on another adventure. We stopped at Little River and left our van and jumped into Gary's car. We drove to a beach called Magnet Bay. It was beautiful and we had to walk through another farm to get to it. Dad and Gary had a surf while mum read her book and Eli and I built dams (I fell in the river) and bridges. We then spotted a seal swimming and I wasn't paying attention and trod on the back of mums thong and nearly ripped her toe of!!! Oops. She was very cross. After that it was time to head back to Gary's house for the last time for a while. It was a fantastic weekend.
