Beautiful sunny day yesterday. Up early because we needed to get the 8.30 shuttle to Sairee Beach. Met with our instructors from DiveMasters - Mark and Emma, two English instructors who were both really lovely, very friendly and helpful. After doing a short written review, it was time to do our scuba review out in the water. As we had not been diving in over 6 months we had to once again demonstrate certain skills such as mask removal, swapping regs, using your buddy's air and taking equipment off and on- and I thought I was over having to do all this again!!! Was much easier than we thought though. Later we went for another dive, however we were a bit disappointed, there was not a lot of fish there and the coral was very washed out. We did see a couple of bright yellow butterfly fish and there were quite a few other plain grey/ black fish but nothing too special-we have seen many more colorful fish at places like Fiji. The water was very clear though.

I just spoke to the guy from one of the villas nearby, a Canadian, who has just got back from snorkeling off the beach here at the hotel, and they had seen a huge turtle and also a reef shark. He showed me the video he had of the turtle, just beautiful, we are planning on snorkeling out there this afternoon. So hopefully we will be lucky enough to see some too.

We stayed in town last night and had dinner at a beach restaurant, very nice Thai food ( we haven't eaten anything but Thai since we got here). Cost us 470 baht - about $15 including 3 dishes between us and cocktails and a soda water each. We were getting the 9.30 shuttle back to the hotel (it is about 10 mins away up a very rough road- they pick you up in 4wd utes.). This left me just enough time to have my feet done in town- 300 baht -less than $10 and my feet are now all smooth and this also included a back and shoulder massage. Ahhh!

We slept in this morning, didn't get to breakfast until about 9.30. Having a relax day today. Was very hot and sunny this morning, but now it is just after 1pm and it is trying to rain again. Just a few spots so far though.
