Today we went back to our favourite beach here on Koh Samui, Lipanoi. We found this beach when we were here a few years ago and still love it. It is a very clear white sandy beach, but unfortunately is becoming a bit more commercialised now with a few more resorts than there was a few years ago.
We stopped for a swim and then headed down to the bottom of the island. The coast down there becomes quite rocky and muddy though so not very nice. We did find one nice little beach though.
We came back up to Lipanoi before sunset and had a cocktail by the beach at Big Johns. There was a wedding taking place on the beach at the time and the couple arrived on an elephant so that was pretty different!!
After our drink there we went up a bit further to Nikki Beach, which was just gorgeous. Very cool laid back place with heaps of day beds to lay back on and gaze out at the ocean. Nice laid back music too. Happy hour was on so had another drink here!! Could have had dinner here but very expensive to eat- most meals were around $20 or so.
So we headed back home and decided to go back to the seafood restaurant on the beach here. We took some wine from home with us as we had seen others with their own drinks last time. Was all perfect, they brought us wine glasses and the food was delicious again. Cost about $20 for both of us for entree and whole red snapper, fried rice, calamari and salad.
