Hey people,
We are now at the freeman's, who live in north sydney in lane cove, we arrived late afternoon yesterday, but before we tell you more about this we will fill you in on the last couple of days!
On Saturday we had a chill out day which was cool. We had a bit of a lie in till about 10 (well i, Rose, did). we then went to the beach which was cool, a lot busier than the weekdays. but it was awesome weather! we then had our chat with the group leader, Simon about what we wanted to do in Oz, especially the East Coast! We decided that we had to do the whole shabang. Before we write what we are doing please don't freak out as Simon said Australia is the safest place to do extreme stuff as they have lots of health and safety! Anyway we are doing a trip to a tropical town where we will do jungle surfing (being tied to a wire and going wizzing through the jungle- which Inga is extremely excited about), we are going sky diving ( i hate heights, Inga managed to pursuade to do it, but i said only if she went diving), so we are also doing diving for a week, white water rafting, then we are doing some awesome stuff- a 4 by 4 around the largest sand bar in the world, fraser island, and going on a yatch with a HOT TUB sailing around the whitsundays, they look so beautiful! So that's very exciting but was also quite expensive but we figure that it's good to buy it now so we can budget!
So for the rest of Saturday we got ready for our pub crawl, the theme being Geeks, so we had brought glasses and ties(see the pics)! the pub crawl was awesome, actually the best bit was the party bus, which had an on board dj, everyone sang their hearts out and danced (no sitting allowed)! We went to the first bar where both me and Inga entered a competition. the competition was 7 people who had to go and get items off the crowd. Inga fell out after not being able to find a full glass but i managed to stay in to the finals, the final was the first person to down....a glass....of water (honestly, to promote safe drinking) through a sock, i did it through inga's sock, not very nice but i won $99 of a diving course which was amazing! thanks to inga's sock! then we went on to two more bar mangaging to bag a free bucket of drink for Inga's dancing!!!! then we ended up at the Gaff, an awesome night club. Dancing on the tables was the highlight, then we got the party bus back to the hostel at 2am. I had an cool chat with the bus driver who was a bit of a legend!
On Sunday we relaxed and recovered, going to the beach for a nice long swim, the waves were pretty big, but the water was warm! we both managed to get nailed by some waves on the way out which was funny. Then we had our farewell dinner at the revolving restuarant, the views were fantastic, it was funny to walk back to where you thought the table wasn't actually there! the food was great, it was buffet and the choice was huge! we got some good pics as well.
On Monday we went into the Oz Intro office to pick up our vounchers for all our activities. After packing up and leaving the hostel by 9am. We left after many goodbyes and thank you's. Taking a bus to the centre of Sydney, we asked the bus driver to tell us where to get off but she forgot and was pretty grumpy! we then had to walk with all our stuff to another bus station which we didn't know where it was! but we managed to find it after asking a helpful australian guy. we then got the bus across the habour brigde to arrive in lane cove where Isabella Freeman (my, Rose's second cousin) meet us and took us back to their house, which is lovely. they are really friendly and helpful, the food was great and an added bonus in that they had a dog which keeps me and Inga happy as we both miss our dogs. and of course our awesome family and friends!
We are just chilling out today here and sorting out travels, budget and CV's for melbourne, as we plan to get a job there.
love Rose and Inga xox
