Bacon and eggs for breaky yes!
Off with group at 9am for short walk to river then on a long boat for a canal tour - getting on was a challenge for me with 1 foot on the boat and 1 on the pier doing the splits till the driver pushed me onto the boat - Josh saw this and decided to get on by sitting on the pier and crawling on but he nearly went in back first
Canal tour great seeing a real variety of houses and shops along the canals - good fun
Easier getting off the boat than on then visited Wat Pho temple complex with the highlight being the giant reclining Buddha. Other parts of the temple grounds had lots of ornate monuments etc - very impressive
Taxi back to hotel, swim, coffee up the street then off at 4pm to the train station
Train departed 6.10pm for 14hour overnight trip to Chiang Mai arrives 8am. Comfortable spacious seats which get turned into upper and lower bunks with curtains for privacy hmmmm.....
Dinner in the restaurant car great experience
Loving it all and so different to our normal travels
Late addendum- guess who copped the narrower top bunk?!
