We're in Miami Beach now. The Miami area is really great! Lots of really good anchorages and tons of stuff to check out on shore. We are anchored in Sunset Lake right now. Multimillion dollar houses all around us. It still must be spring breeak here. One of the houses had a rave last night till one in the morning. Pam and I slept with cotton in our ears it was so loud!
It was pretty cool sailing through downtown Miami, all the skyscrapers and boat traffic. We'll hang out here for the weekend and then go back to the DInner Key mooring field for Monday night - get pumped out, get water and take showers. The mooring balls are just $19 and you get all their services for that price.
We met a really nice couple on a 28' Cape Dory anchored in Hurricane Harbor at Key Biscayne. Spent the day hangin out on their boat drinking sangria, etc, and swimming. Its pretty warm here now, low 80s, so the water feels really good. They had a dog, made us miss Skylar.
There's lots of big things in the water here. Dolphins all over, but there's also these jumping sting rays. The crazy things leap out of the water about three feet in the air. Somebody told us that a lady was out in her dingy and one jumped over her boat and stung her as it went over. She died... But then again, cruisers seem to embellish their stories a lot. I watched someone catch something four feet long the other day. Took him about half an hour to get it in.
We are going to leave Zephia on a morring ball while we are in England. We leave Apr 21 and come back May 24. Danashould have her baby any second now. We;re really excited to see them!
