We've been in Carrabelle waiting for good weather to cross the Big Bend. Its looking like we will leave tomorrow afternoon (Friday) and anchor out in the bay that night. This will give us a jump on the 32 hour crossing starting Saturday at 7AM. The weather is supposed to be OK Saturday and Sunday. We are going to sail around the Big Bend and stay in 30 ft of water to avoid the big waves. So its the long way around...
If the weather turns nasty and we need a place to hide, we will have two bail out points. The first point is Steinhatchee and the second one is the Florida Barge canal which goes into Port Inglis.
We should arrive at Anclote Key before 3 PM Sunday. We'll anchor there for the night and then on to Tarpon Springs the next day. Wish us fair seas and good luck!
