We went skiing/snowboarding yesterday! We went up Stubaier Gletscher, which is 2600m high! Very tiring, but definitely worth it. Photos to come. Today we travelled from chilly Innsbruck to Florence, with a brief stop in Bologna. The Eurail pass was probably the best decision we made in planning for this trip. Very easy to get around, with most trains not needing a reservation or an additional fee. Getting to see the dramatic Italian landscape at its best, although it can be a challenge to get a decent photo out of the window. We watched soccer/football on tv as we ate pizza tonight. Our waiter~s name was Guiseppe. Does not get much more authentic! We are in a very good hostel with a view of the Duomo - 30 seconds up the street. It is the Academy Hostel, if anyone wants to look it up. We have two nights here, then we venture to Pisa for a half-day trip, then on to Rome where we will settle for at least a few days!
