We have had some really lovely warm weather over the past few days with temperatures in the low to mid 30s. We have spent a large part of our day in the pool or lounging on the terrace.
Last night we went into the night market at Saint Maurin, which is a hawkers food market selling local specialities and the usual favorites. We gave the snails a miss, and after looking though the choices I ended up with chicken and tomatoes and Geoff had a curry, the boys had pizza and chips! Not very authentic cuisine, still the atmosphere at the long shared tables in the village square was great. Most of our table were drinking local rosé, but Geoff and I decided to have a beer with our meal so Geoff sent me to stand in line with all the huge tattooed men to order. It was amusing to see that these men were all drinking their beer with some kind of peach liqueur added... I ordered our beer "al la naturel"!
Today was another relaxing day. After sleeping in (both boys were exhausted after a late night at the night markets) we headed out to have a closer look at some of the nearby Bastides. We stopped in Castelsagrat to look around the lovely town square and post our postcards from Nimes, and buy some new ones.
