I woke up this morning knowing today would likely end up as a repeat of yesterday. The plan was to get up, head out to Richmond, home of Inspire 9, then go to the tennis in the evening. For once, I stuck to my plans!
I got up headed down for breakfast once again, and before leaving, snapped a shot of myself in a mirror as my dad is constantly complaining he hasn't seen a photo of me - see picture. My neck is slowly improving, and today I could actually turn to the right for the first time, though with some discomfort.
After getting in at 1:30am, and having gotten up so early yesterday and again today, I was definitely feeling a little tired as I headed up Toorak road towards Chapel St. Once again the street was full of the hustle and bustle of the day previous, impressive cars and shops all the way along.
It was damn hot out, 32 degrees as I crossed into richmond and headed into Inspire 9. The cricket was on and Australia were just completeing the double century against India as I walked through the door, the whole of Inspire 9 sat around the TV screen.
Inspire 9 are very community focussed, and offer bi-weekly developer meet ups for the community to drop in on, have a beer and talk about latest developments in Ruby on Rails (for non-geeks - this is a computer programming language). Its all free and the whole group are very welcoming. I stayed about last night just to see what was going on, but not understanding the language I decided my time was better spent elsewhere.
I sat down to have a quick browse around for house shares, having sorted out a weeks accomodation the day previous. There were plenty on offer on the Australian gumtree website, however all were asking for cash bonds (downpayment) from travellers, and I still have some unresolved banking issues.
Having dawned on me that I have no cash at present, I moved on to completing another days work. So far I am finding I work really well at Inspire 9, and I am getting a lot done in the time allocated to me. The best thing about it is that whenever there are no plans for any day, I can just drop in and do some work to help support myself. I really love my job.
6pm roled around very quickly and I headed back down to South Yarra. For the first time in a week or so, the wind started to pick up with a chill on it, and I actually shivered (shock / horror!) as I crossed back in to South Yarra. The place does not calm down at all, even after work stops, the roads are full of busy people.
I quckly packed up my things, before once again, heading out to Fed Square to meet Mark, and watching the Tennis again. Although it was a day full of repeats, I still thoroughly enjoyed the day, and I really love walking to and from work, and seeing the sights along the way.
Ian.

Scott Good read, but there should be less tennis and bloody cricket. I haven't waited all this time for you to b***** off to Australia just to listen to dreary sport chit chat!
