I woke up early today to catch up with CJ for a bit more chat. However after spending 2 hours talking I felt so shattered I went back to bed and completely crashed out. I am finding that althought I can manage the lifestyle I have, it is definitely gaurenteeing sleep in my downtime.
I get up early almost every morning, spend my day doing whatever I had planned and then in the evening I tend to do work or talking to the UK before crashing out for bed. So in those hours of my downtime and during the night, I go out like a log (even people in the dorm I am currently staying in have commented I can sleep through just about anything).
I woke up again at about 1pm and decided I was not going to let the day slip by. I got ready, and with no real direction in mind I set off towards the CBD. It has been cooler the last few days in Melbourne, a welcome relief.
I headed down towards the Victoria Market and turned right towards Flagstaff gardens. Taking a different route through the gardens than previous times, I headed towards the north west corner of the CBD. The furthest I have been in this direction is the junction between La Trobe street and Spencer street. This time I decided to head straight on, across the bridge that covers the exit to Spencer Street Station, and passing the Etihad statium.
I took a few photos as a slowly saundered across, admirining my view of the CBD from an entirely new direction. I then cast my gaze over the Etihad stadium, a rather large stadium opposite the Melbourne Docklands. I began walking toward it.
Passing the stadium I turned south, again taking photos all the way along of entirely newly discovered territory, following the Harbour Esplande. There were many yachts in the harbour, and the backdrop of port phillip bay and the Citilink Tollway were rather impressive.
After hitting the docklands I admired the view in both directions from the Yarra, and crossed over into the South Warf. I took yet more photos before deciding that I needed to grab some shopping in and that Coles on the way back to the hostel would be a good place to head.
Coles is basically the Australian Tesco / Asda type supermarket, and is towards the top of Spencer Street. I set out back across the Yarra, at the junction with the crown casino in South Bank. After getting the shopping in, (very proudly walking away having spent only £12 once again) I headed back to the hostel. I had work planned for the evening and was up till around 1am before I finally crashed out after a long day.

Scott "have commented I can sleep through just about anything" - When hasn't this ever been the case? We used to punch you in the head when you were asleep at Uni, sometimes we thought you weren't actually alive.
April I second this. We covered your entire head in shaving foam and you only woke up because it got in your mouth and you couldn't breathe. Ahhh, good times.
