I arrived at Tom and Gills set to do two weeks work before flying up to Brisbane and meeting up with Scott, Lauren, Stu and Jess. The plan was to save some money whilst working at Tom and Gills, and also to avoid some very high flight prices by delaying my departure until June.
I settled in quickly, and once again found it really nice to be living as part of the Clark family for a while. Tom and Gill are truely fantastic people, making me really feel like their home is my home from home. Its a very relaxing place to be, and Molly really lights up the house with her puppy enthusiasm.
I contacted work about what they wanted me to do during the next two weeks, but unfortunately none of the projects were ready to go ahead. Coming to Australia, I always had roughly 2 months money to keep me going without work should a bad time arise, so although I was downhearted, I was realatively unaffected by this.
Rather than waste the time, I decided to begin work on a personal iPhone project that I had the idea for. The main reason to do this was simply to stay up to date with iOS development, and keep my development head active. I really enjoyed working on this personal project, spending longer and longer each day on it.
The second week at Tom and Gills also provided me with no work, so I continued with my pet project. In addition, Tom an Gills son Stuart had recently moved house, and did not have a garden for their dog Roxy. So Stuart brought Roxy round the house to play with Molly, and with Gill away at work all week I became the dogs adopted owner, taking them both out and looking after them every day.
On the 2nd June, the day finally arrived to catch my flight to Brisbane. The guys would be following me the following morning. Phillip drove me to Melbourne Tullamarine airport, and I said goodbye to my time in this amazing place. I will be back again to fly back home, but until then Melbourne will be a great miss.
