Off we trot to Merida, capital of the Yucatan. A pleasant, friendly and pretty city. Whilst there we visited our favourite site of all sites ever, Uxmal. The incredible amount of decoration remaining on the building made it very special, and the beauty of the buildings themselves, pyramids with curved sides, quadrangles, things i don´t know the correct architectural term for.. Lots of iguanas to chase too.

Merida was also the site of my first bout of proper illness bought on, embarrassingly, by food we cooked. spend all that time eating at the taco stands and little restuarants no problemo! Let me loose in the kitchen and we have a big messy problem. Thankfully no one at the lovely hostel we stayed in (Nomadas- hello Belgians and Dutchies!) semed to mind too much..
