We took the 3am tour to Tikal to watch the sunrise, an amazing experience which i would recommend to everyone, despite the early hour! Walking through the jungle to the ruins in the dark looking up at the stars was just the beginning, we climbed to the top of Temple 4 and setled down to watch the sun rise. Slowly the colours of the sky began to change and intensify and the noises from the jungle increased, howler monkeys started their unearthly calls and different birds began to sing to call to each other. As the sun rose the outlines of the temples beacme stringer until we were looking at the complex from above. Beautiful.
