After a 3 gour drive down the most windey roads in the world and over beautiful mountain scenery we arrived at El Retiro in Lanquin, truely a backpackers paradise, nestled in a beautiful valley. 2 days were spent enjoying the friendly atmosphere, delectable food and gorgeous kitten. Semuc Champey is a beautiful area with about 6 natural pools forming a ´staircase´of turquoise waters to swim in. Unfortunately my camera decided to break though so no piccies to show... We splashed and swam in the fresh water and Ian and the boys jumped from trees and bridges in to the river.
