Finally decided to learn some Spanish and attempt to stop our pathetic mumblings, we had an eventful journey to San Pedro involving the most dangerous driver ever who sped along the hairpin bends with wild abandon and not budging for anyone, a rough boat ride in which we got soaked to the skin and a final soggy trudge up a big old hill. We found a school and signed on for the week and sampled some of the backpacker cuisine in the town. The town a weird mix of crusty travellers, students and traditional guatemalans. This was the day my illness began and unfortunately didn´t end for a week which meant i missed a few lessons and stayed in bed, a real shame as my teacher was great and i was enjoying the time at school.. However was happily well enough on the last night to go out and party with the boys! The night ended in a mad dash in a boat to a full moon party which turned out to be a non event so we all piled in the boat to go back and practically capsized about 50 times as the lake was so rough and the boat so full.. slightly scary!
The day after there was an earthquake! Very bizarre..not a bad one but we defintiley felt the earth shake and everyone came out of their houses and squealed, apparently it happen a lot though so no reason to be scared....
