On the 11th we left Finca Tatin and made the short boat ride to Livingston though if you saw us when we arrived you would have thought we had swam there as it rained the whole way and the plastic sheets to cover us only gathered the puddles before tipping them down the back of our trousers.

Livingston is a small fishing town with a very strong Caribbean feel but to be honest I was more impressed by the fact that they had two live crocodiles in a pool in the playground. The Guatemalans have the most laid back approach to safety I´ve ever known but I guess the kids learn quickly or die young. I definitely prefer it to the UK but then I guess I don´t have to work here.

Nate, Kelsey and Gisella were also in Livingston so it must feel like we´re stalking them but it happens all the time as you´re all visiting the same places just on a slightly different itinerary. I bet Suzy was glad to have the company as I was still unable to eat anything without it coming out both ends at this point so I didn´t make for a particularly good dinner guest.

After dinner Javier (the owner) took Suzy up to the pharmacy which was incredibly nice of him and they brought me back some special drink and tablets, which seem to have helped. Everyone has been genuinely keen to know how I am and it´s one of the things we´re going to miss about Guatemala.
