As soon as Ian recovered from his illness, I got the same thing! Unfortunately we had to leave our hotel in Livingston as they were fully booked. We made a rather horrible boat journey to Rio Dulce where I decided that I couldn´t continue on to Flores so went to the 1st hostel that we could get to where I clambered into bed. It turned out that I probably would have been better to head onto to Tikal as there was a club across the river (20 minute walk across a bridge!!) and the music there was so loud we could feel the bass vibrations in our room!! I know it's naughty but I had to take a couple of stugeron just to knock myself out or I was never going to sleep.
The next day I was still a big rough but didn't want to spend another night in that place so we hopped on a bus to Flores. Although it seems we were doomed to not be able to get away from loud noises. For half the journey we had the Casio keyboard "oom cha cha oom cha cha" music full blast and for the second half we had a football game on the radio that was so loud we actually had to cover our ears!
We finally made it to our hotel and some peace and quiet! We bumped into some friends from Finca Tatin (Adam and Erin) in the street so we spent the evening chilling with them.
Today we have used as a day to fully recover from our various ailments as tomorrow is Tikal, and that is going to be a long, tough day!
