Ian & Claire's Adventure
We arrived in Panjim (panaji) with good intentions of visiting the local area and apparrently the wonderful Portuguese architecture however Claire had a bad cold, it was just another busy city embelished in the Lonely Planet, and the hotels were expensive and dives. Naturally we booked the next sleeper bus to Hampi for the next evening.
As it happens, the next morning was loads better and we bumped into another 4 brits staying in our dive. 3 Chris's and an Emma. We had beakfast together at a really nice travellers restaurant called Vitesse and shared a taxi to Anjuna market. It was mayhem when we arrive. We were instantly pounched on by every drum salesman and earcleaner ("you have soap in your ear sir"). The market was huge and full of some amazing stuff, mostly tat though. It was a really good day out.
We got back just in time for a quick shower, to be ripped off and eat a pizza before catching our Bus. We had a double (apparantly) bed and sped out to Hampi for the next 15 hours. Its was the most turbulent, and uncomfortable ride you could imaging so we didn't get any sleep.
