After 14 months on the road we arrive at our Daughter and her husbands property they bought while we were away. We hadnt seen it except in photos. It was great to see everyone, the kids have grown up so much and it was lovely to spend time with them all. A couple of days after we arrived we went on a tour of the property, with Chris leading on his motor bike, one of the kids on a smaller motor bike, Allen on the red quad bike (geared) and me on the green quad ...

Well what can we say! Carnarvon is lovely and sunny with crabs aplenty and bowls for the man any day he wants! Friends we met last year in Coral Bay met up with us here and stayed nearly two weeks. John and Kolenda live in Myalup (south west WA) and had been on the road about 5 months. We had a great time with them. Sunny Carnarvon, great for boating, bowling and soaking up some rays. Allen has been busy not only bowling but preparing the green for the games. He is on the committee here at Wintersun Caravan Park for the bowls and is kept busy most of the week. We do, however, take time to go out on the water for some crabbing, and what a great day we had yesterday, the crabs were huge and we got 21 of them. The caravan park tenants are enjoying our catch. Well we are on the final run to home. We stayed a few days at Quobba on the nice white sand in the lovely warm sun, it was beautiful. No fish to speak of but then we were only there three days. Allen did catch a few small ones, enough for dinner anyway. Carnarvon, about 75km down the road, beckons. We are booked for Carnarvon for Allen to bowl in two carnivals and he is on the committee there too. We will be in Carnarvon until 26th August. Then dropping in...

Today we drove 20km to Dampier. The drive there was interesting as the road sides are shallow salt lakes! There is nothing much in Dampier as it is a port and shipping seems to be the focus there. We drove around and took a few photos and found the statue of Red Dog (see photos). We leave Karratha tomorrow.
