The caravan park we stayed at was so boggy with mud and soggy wet grass it was hard to keep the van floor dry and presentable, let alone the dog! Sometimes the little gem towns and sites are not often visited. We stayed in a free Rotary Park camp area at Babinda about 30-40km north of Innisfail. It has been raining on the Qld coast for about 10 days and everything is very soggy. This area was large enough for us to park on bitumen and unhook to drive into the little town. The weather for the last week has been a bit drizzly. Today was no exeption. We drove from Cardwell to Tully which was surrounded by thick misty cloud and rain. About 50 kms from Ingham in the Girringun National Park is the longest single drop water fall in Australia. At 268 metres it is quite spectacular, especially the sound and spray at the bottom. We had to drive up a very steep winding road to get there, part of it unsealed, and the hairpin bends made it quite an adventure just getting there. The falls were beautiful but the weather was overcast so we had to settle for not so spectaular photos. Lovely sight neve...

We only stayed in Townsville to have repairs done on the Caravan wheels and tyres. We have been to Townsville before and decided it is a big place and too busy for us so we moved on to a couple of night stop overs.
