12th

Arrived in downtown LA about 6pm after our last Greyound journey ever! Hell Yeah! Downtown is apparently dodge city and not too nice so jumped stright into a cab to Hollywood! Stayed at USA hostels which is all rules, rules, rules kinda felt like school.

13th

Over slept, Phin (Chicago friend) had come to meet us, arranged to meet him after doing hollywood boulevard. On the way to meet Phin we bumped into Bret from Flight of the Conchords!! TOTES starstruck like omg wtf lols! Blaters meeting up in NZ. Then went to Venice beach with Phin, had a nice day there and saw the sunset OC stylee. LA doesnt seem as bad or as dirty as everyone has been saying. There was Happy Feet 2 premier.. half thought we would bump into brad pitt and robin williams but what evs..

14th

Today we went to universal studios!! arrived worried that our hand me down passes wouldn't work and they did! (thanks andy & simon!) Got well excited ran around then experienced terminator 3d, then studio tour which was wicked, and witnessed "the most intense 3D experience in the WORLD" aparntly :) saw loads of sets from films and stuff was pretty cool! Complete with earthquake and flooding simulator. Massively lush day! jurassic park ride and simpsons were probo favourite.

tuesday 15th november

Last day in the states! Did some more Hollywood Blvd exploration then to the airport!

Can't believe the first part of our trip is over, really excited about New Zealand. We've really loved the states, The grand canyon has been a massive favourite. So glad we did the helicopter ride! also Times square at night was wicked, niagara falls, New Orleans - Bourbon street, San francisco - Golden gate bridge, Memphis - Civil rights museum, Chicago - the architectural tour & meeting phin , LA - venice beach sunset & universal studio's and meeting andy and simon :)
