Arrived at 8ish am, got to the hostel which smelt strongly of wee and office wasn't open..We didn't want to stay here, so just checkin in for 1 night. went to public library to try and find another hostel on computors, sat next to a gentleman who also smelt bad.. grunting, and blatently watching some pretty graphic porn...awkward... booked a different hostel, better location.

8th - Checed in to union square backpackers hostel, down a dodge alley, wierd front desk guy didn't like Laura at all! Went to see the sea-lions at fishermans wharf. Had a cuppa in a cafe - rude waiter! called us kids so we left an arsey note instead of a tip..ha! Then splashed out on some warmer clothes.

9th - Laura feeling abit homesick today, really needing to skype mummykins.. walked to union square, its all christmassy! Ate the most AMAZING cheesecake EVER! Sat under christmasified palm trees, and the song 'California dreaming' came on..aww!

10th- Headed up taylor street - one of the MASSIVE hilly streets, walked the cycle path to the Golden Gate bridge - massive walk but worth it. It went dark, had a great view of the city skyline. Got back Andy & Simon have arrived! Went to a well anticipated Indian buffet, tikka masala abit wierd - and laura has it all over her hoodie (thanks andy) LOLS went glass lift and saw union square and stuff from reeeal high up!

friday 11th - walked to the pier to get the Alcatraz tour, but it was booked up till sunday! went to pier 39 bought some praline (ergh) went to see the wiggley road on Lombart street, pretty cool. Chucked it down with rain! Later on went ice skating (laura very reluctant) really slippery ice..going to miss Andy & Simon! genners sad!

Early start next day to get on the bus to LA!
