Hi y'all, today was a lovely day for us, we started by checking out of our hotel and moving to a different hotel which was one block away, we managed to get lost, how we made it to Nashville is still a mystery. After checking in to our new hotel, we decided to go downtown about 10 minutes away, to the Tennessee Museum, and learned all about life in Tennessee and the civil war. We then returned to our hotel for some quiet time, and then headed to the Grand Ole Opry house to watch the show. Of course we GPS'd its location and off we went. Getting there early we walked around an adjacent mall and then wandered over to the Opry house which was suspiciously in darkness.
Not detered by darkness, we approached the building and met with a old security guard who advised us that the show is playing at the Ryman Auditorium which is not at this location but 15 minutes away by car. So off we raced back to the motorhome with the only problem being the speed in whcih Dominique races. Her quick walk is best described as possibly a normal person's meander.......I finally get her back in the motorhome and we race across town in the depths of Nashville downtown.
As we drive by what we believe to be the Ryman Auditorium we note it to be just a couple minutes past showtime. So a quick park and into the show we go. Yeah right, it was friggin crazy people everywhere, one way streets, vehicles double parked.........But no fear, we found a safe place for the HMS Serendipity to rest her lovely head with the baptists, in their church parking lot.
Now we need to hustle the 10 blocks to the show. Dominique tried walking quickly but I have come to the conclusion that speed is just not in her DNA.
We found the auditorium and were shown to our seats in mid show. The seats are more like a bench so you just squeeze in. Well, we sat down and were a bit crowded so Dominique managed to have the gentlemen to her right move over which allowed me to move over. It was at that time I realized I was sitting on this poor young asian ladie's food. Well, not fully seated on it, just my right cheek. She wasn't happy but sh** happens. It couldn't have been too bad because she ate it.
It was a good show and we were thoroughly entertained. We made it back to the hotel safely without getting lost, and while sitting at a red light on our way back, we happened to look at the license plate of the car ahead of us, it was a Manitoba plate, what are the odds.
That brings us to a close for the day, we thank you for the comments, although Maryn, your comment about the leash was just mean, Harry claims that it's true, but it's still mean. Stay warm everyone, and we'll update our blog tomorrow.
P.S. our blog says that we are in Donelson, Tennessee, but we are still in Nashville, we didn't know how to change it and we don't have any kids with us to help us change it.
