Horvats USA 2017
Well that was an interesting 48 hours. Myall Lakes was beautiful, but also windy, noisy and smelly! We had 90km/hr winds overnight and during packup which made things interesting, including an airborne gazebo causing damage to three panels of marcus' car. The"eco" toilets had some sort of mmalfunction so that not only did they seriously stink worse than any drop toilet ever, there was also an alarm constantly going off. There were dingos so we were constantly mindful of where the kids, any rubbish and our food were. And the entire population of Buledelah clearly believes as it's in their backyard they can treat it as such...one already large group inviting all their local friends to a party in the bbq area, cars everywhere, people everywhere, loud music etc. Will we go back? Unlikely. Once we beat the wind we were on the road by 9am, Sydney traffic at it's worst with our satnav not being very helpful - offering us an alternative route to avoid the traffic that instead sent us into even worse traffic! That's an hour of our lives we'll never get back. Finally rolled into Gundagai at about 4:30 in time for Marcus to watch the end of the game. Pub meal for dinner (Family Hotel if you're ever this way - basic but good counter meals, all the usual suspects), bed by 9:30. Home tomorrow!
