Day 5 - Perth - 23 April 2017
After breakfast, at about 8am, we left our apartment and set off towards Kalamunda Farmers Market which was only about half an hour drive away. There were interesting arrays of fresh vegetables and fruits, olive oil, honey, food stuff, fresh flowers and potted plants and the market vibe was enhanced with a talented young lady who serenaded with her violin and saxophone. My dad also bought pancake with spinach and cheese and we sat on the bench and ate as though it was our second round of breakfast.
At 930am, we left the market and drove to the Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm. Half an hour was all it took for us to arrive at the Animal Farm. We went into an enclosure and fed the rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens. And also, we did the bottle feeding of goats too. For the bottle feeding, it was a little bit of testing of patience because the time of the feed was supposed to be at 1030am. However, the staff only started to get the people organised at about 1045am. And, even a bottle had to be shared amongst several kids. Thankfully, both our kids had the opportunity to try the bottle feeding.
There was also a train ride that took us round the farm. Also, a merry-go-round that the kids got to enjoy. And of course, the absolutely indispensable playground that stretched our entire farm's visit to close to two hours.
We left at noon and had lunch at The Henley Brook. It was a spontaneous choice. Heaps of space was available at the lawn and we literally dined outdoor. The weather was cool with a bit of hot sun and it was kinda like a picnic experience which was really pleasant. After lunch, the boys ran around and we were sure that they must have really exhausted their energy because when they got up the car, they almost immediately felt asleep.
Well, the kids had a bit of a nap while we were making our way to AQWA (The Aquarium of Western Australia). The best part for me was the underwater tunnel. Pretty fascinating sight to see the fish swimming above you. It was also the time of the day that we got really sleepy. Emma and I both took turn to snooze. There was also a playground within the premise of the Aquarium. Even though it wasn't a huge playground per se, it didn't dampen the kids' mood one bit. They were just contented with whatever that was offered to them.
We left AQWA at 430pm. Oh, and while driving out, we saw a beautiful rainbow. Strangely, usually rainbow appears after heavy shower but today, the weather was perfectly fine. Anyway, it was still a very nice surprise from God that we were able to see the rainbow during this trip.
As it was still early for dinner, we drove to Elizabeth Quay. The 1/4 hour parking rule caused us not to be able to park for a longer period of time, as much as we wanted to. The only way was to pay every 15 minutes, which would, then again, be quite troublesome. Anyway, not much to do at Elizabeth Quay (or perhaps, it was because we didn't research hard enough to know what are the interesting things available to do). There was, however, the Carousel ride that one can't miss. My dad and I accompanied our boys for the ride. Also, I'm sure the boys had a great time chasing the seagulls too.
We had originally wanted to do our dinner at Hawker's Cuisine. However, when we arrived, the place wasn't open. We then explored the area and decided to settle it at Hongkies along William Street. Le wasn't feeling well during dinner. At first, we had wanted to go for some nice desserts after dinner but because we thought it'd be best for him to get some early rest, we went back straight after dinner.
All of us, tired from the long day, rested early tonight.
