Day 4 - Perth - 22 April 2017
We had simple breakfast at our apartment. There wasn't any fancy stuff and I guess I'm going to write the same old breakfast story for the next few days. Oh, but today (before I forget), we had additional eggs for breakfast. Thanks to my mum who took some effort to boil them.
Emma and I went to Woolsworth after breakfast to get some necessities before we started our actual activities proper. We didn't bring the folks and the kids along as we wanted to do the supermarketing in the shortest possible time. It still took us an hour and by the time we got back to our apartment, it was about 9am. Well, not too late to begin the day still.
Our first destination was the Kyilla Community Farmers' Market. It was only about 20 minutes drive away. There was two bouncing castles and the kids had a great time just doing what they did best - jumping in it. My parents and us took turn to patronise the various stalls and apart from the stuff that the people were selling that were interesting, the live music and the chatters from strangers sure livened up the atmosphere. The playground was so enticing that it almost felt obligatory to let the kids play at it. After all, playground is synonymous to a kid's world.
We left the market at 11am and drove for half an hour to Fremantle. A quick search at Google revealed that Kailis' Fish Market Cafe was one of the better choices for lunch and thus, we headed towards it. The food was great and the place was vibrant with many people opting to have lunch there as well. I had Barramundi & chips and a cup of bubblegum gelato as dessert. It was beyond satisfaction.
We walked a couple of minutes towards Esplanade Reserve (still at Fremantle) where large area of recreational facilities such as the Ferris Wheel and the playgrounds are the main attractions (the latter for the kids, of course!). My mum, the kids and I took the 7-min Wheel's ride and I think I was just busy taking pictures of the view and the kids and playing with them the whole time. After that, the kids proceeded to the playground and undoubtedly, they had fun.
We drove 5 min to Fremantle Markets. It was so crowded plus the passageway was quite narrow that made it pretty stressful to be pushing a stroller around while strolling and looking around at the different stalls. Needless to say, we got out of Fremantle Markets pretty soon.
We drove back to the apartment to fill up our water bottles as well as the kids'. And then, we set off towards Lotterywest Family Area at Kings' Park. As Le mentioned to us before that he wanted some kind of a picnic activity, we brought a mat and laid it on the grass patch near the playground areas. We had fruits and of course, the playground was too irresistible for the kids to be sitting on the mat with us for the next hour or so. The kids had a wonderful time at Lotterywest Family Area.
Dinner was at New Moon Dim Sum restaurant at James Street. As my tummy wasn't feeling too great, dinner was just a routinely affair. Still, I must say that the food wasn't that bad.
After dinner, we drove back. It was about 715pm when we arrived at our apartment. It was about 9pm when we were all ready for bed.
