Day 4 - Geneva
We woke up extremely early today - at 6am. It was a free and easy day today. We learnt from the staff at the hotel reception that Geneva is a sleeping city on Sunday; ALL the shops are closed with limited pockets of cafes and restaurants that are open.
I spent part of the morning learning from Emma how to make formula milk. I had to prepare myself for caregiving role for the week to come. Then we had breakfast at the hotel. We thanked God that all hotel expenses would be covered by Emma's company.
Then, we went to Geneva airport. The objective was to get a sim card (with data plan) for Emma so that we could remain contactable while she will be attending her induction program. We then proceeded to get some tidbits and beverages at the airport's supermarket.
For the next half of the day, we just took a leisurely stroll around Lake Geneva where we snapped some pictures of its towering water fountain and the surrounding buildings of reputable brand names of financial institutions and watches.
Then, we went to the old town for a walk. As expected, it was quiet. We had not much choice when we were looking for a place for lunch; we settled it in a pretty decent-looking cafe where I had my sandwich and coffee. Without any clue as to what to do next, we headed back to the hotel for a short nap.
In the evening, we had dinner with Emma's colleague at Cafe Du Centre. Food was pretty good and the company of people was also comfortable to be with. Overall, it was quite a pleasant dining experience.
After dinner, we went back to the hotel. We turned in at about 945pm.
