Day 8 - 12 Jun 15
We got up at 615am. After our breakfast, we left for the Motorcar Museum of Japan. It was a mere 20 min drive from Kagari Kisshotei.
At the Motorcar Museum, there were vintage cars galore on display from days of old in this three-storied building. I was busy snapping away on those cars that had impressive designs and was just amazed at how fanciful some really were.
We left the Motorcar Museum at about 12pm and moved on to Nippon Origami Museum. When I first stepped in, the origami chandelier caught my attention. And there was this beautiful garden with different species of flowers - all made of papers. The highlight was to witness the tiniest origami. With the naked eyes, it looked just like a strand of hair. It had to be viewed from a microscope in order to see the paper crane. Very, very impressed.
Lunch was at 古九谷. It was within the premise of the Nippon Origami Museum. I ordered my Tempura Udon via the food vending machine and joined the rest of them at 洞梦, another cafe, which was just adjacent to it.
After lunch, we drove to our final destination of the day (or rather the trip) - Ishikawa Zoo. I was a tad exhausted and dozed off in the car while en route to the zoo. It took us about two hours to explore the entire zoo - ok, we did miss seeing some of the animals. As the size of the zoo wasn't huge to begin with, it was quite a pleasant experience to walk around in. My memory of the animals - amongst all the others I've seen - were the red pandas. They didn't look like pandas like those from China; in fact, they looked more like cats.
We left the zoo at about 5pm and drove to Komatsu Airport. We had dinner there. I had Noodle with Chāshū, a bowl of fried rice, gyoza and to top it off, I had the finest Asahi - the beer that will most closely be associated with Japan - before boarding the domestic plane to Haneda and thereafter, the homebound flight to Singapore.
Sayonara.
