Holly's and Helly's BIG adventure!!
Well, here we are in the last country on our Europe tour! Barcelona is another impressive city, although it is so hot again, the Europe heatwave needs to come to an end! We arrived at Barcelona Franca after another 2 day journey from Venice with a stopover in Milan and a night train journey on the Hotel train. We thought this would be very posh considering the amount we each paid for it, 70 euros if you are interested, but it was just as small if not smaller than all the other night trains, ah well such is life. The mattresses were quite comfortable and i slept well which is the main thing! We arrived in Barcelona 3 hours late at 12.30 and then began the trek to our hotel, which is in Sabadell, a 30 minute train ride out, nothing when you are coming in with a small bag to sightsee but ages when you are carrying a heavy rucksack and just want to flop!
The hotel is very very nice, modern, huge rooms and a BATH, which is exciting even if i dont normally have baths at home! Also air conditioning, which i have decided is an amazing invention!
Yesterday was spent wandering around Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas, quite impressive, huge streets and we also found the most amazing food market, lots of fresh fruit, meat, fish and dairy products, it all looked delicious! Today we were complete tourists and took a tourist bus around the city, the Park Guell and the Sagrada Familia are very beautiful, although the Sagrada Familia is surrounded with scaffolding, and still isn't finished, quite surreal! I absolutly loved all the mosaics in the park, so many bright colours and interesting shapes!
Shopping tomorrow, so much fun in different countries, you can pick up things no one else has in the UK! Moving onto Madrid on Sunday, so the next entry should be from the capital of Spain! xx
