Holly's and Helly's BIG adventure!!
After a second huge train journey from Thessoloniki to Athens squashed in a carriage with 8 other people and numerous bags , cigarette smoke wafting in, we made it to the port and eventually found the smallest, stripest boat which would take us to our Greek Island! 40 minutes later we touched down and set foot on Aegina, after settling into our room we ran straight down to the beach, straight into the sea, it was amazing!
The town is beautiful, quite ecclectic and an amazing buzzing atmosphere at night, we have our own little beach just a couple of hundred metres from our room, which we can trundle down to when we feel like and lounge around on. The laid back atmosphere on the island has rubbed off on us and we dont feel the need to hurry anything.
Today we went into Athens to see the Acropolis and i can honestly say that it amazes me, we trekked up the long way to see it and despite the mass amounts of scaffolding surrounding it, it is still awesome and the walk up just made me appreciate it even more.
I think we are going to spend the rest of our time in Greece relaxing, going to see another island and sitting on the beach! Moving on to Italy on Sunday when we catch a ferry at about 6pm, arriving at 8am the next morning, so until then! xxx
