After a hectic but really fun week staying with Robyn and Roy we finally hit the road. Camper hitched and all in order (check), kayak (check), bikes (check). Kids and husband (check). All good to go.
First stop Sussex Inlet (South Coast NSW). We didnt want our first day to be too long as we were all pretty tired. We stopped for dinner at Oporto, South Nowra. Broke our golden rule of "not eating at franchise food outlets". There was only one word to describe the food "rubbish". Possibly a little harsh, but we had just spent a week at the in-laws enjoying delicous home cooked meals every night. Anyway, lesson learnt.
We were all really excited to be on our way. We hadn't been driving long when Archie asked "how long before we are on the dirt dad". To my surprise, Roy replied "probably a few days mate". Roy and his good buddy Baz have organised a trial water crossing (somewhere near Sussex) for Sunday.
We finished the night with a short walk and some kangaroo spotting. The boys thought it was terrific. They stood very still and watched. Then Archie proceeded to imitate the iconic australian animal.
Lights Out.

Steve Ahh Sussex Inlet, the place of my childhood family holidays. I used to cry when we had to leave. Great choice for your first stop. Fast food, I've heard it all now.
Anthony Gentile Trust Archie! We miss you guys its not the same. I have too many marshmallows and not enough Max and Archies!
