Day 3 - Our final day! Sunrise over the Amazon and a rubber factory! At 5.30am we opted to get up to see sunrise, blimey we were shattered! It was worth it though as he headed out into the Amazon to see the early bird life, watch more dolphins swimming and see the sunrise over the Amazon, unforgettable is all I can say. Then rather tired we headed back for breakfast, our final Amazon experience was to visit a rubber factory, well factory being a loose term, more of a rubber shack, before we sadly caught our boat back to Manaus where our trip would end. I after having just 6 hours ish sleep in 2 days and knowing that I had a flight the next day declined to do the rubber thang but Ads went which was cool whilst I slept very deeply! ADS RUBBER THANG!................................. ... After our final Amazonian meal, it was time for us to say goodbye to Claudia, Thomas and the Amazon, what an amazing time we had had made all the better by the great friends we had made too! We were sad to go and just wish that time and money could have stretched to another day here but unfortunately it was not to be. Harry had it right and as we sped off he cracked open another beer, one for every method of transport, a top guy! We raced through the many river ways, small and large, from this perspective it seemed different again, such a beautiful part of the world, which we were sad to leave. Our trusty VW was waiting and then it was back through the mud tracks and onto the highway back to port. We couldn't believe that 3 days was already over, which now meant that we only had one place left to go, Rio and then that was it, our dream was over....... Sad was not the word as to how we were starting to feel. Excited obviously about seeing family and friends and Xmas but very conscious of what reality means and that all this was ending in just 10 days, where has the year gone!! At port we caught a local river boat back across the water and sped at speed back to Manaus where a driver was waiting for us. Saying goodbye to mad n crazy Harry, we then spent a while stuck in Manaus traffic, blimey this place is vastly different when it isn't a Sunday, its manic!! Back to our hostel in a not so nice room this time, shattered we then had to sort more admin stuff as unfortunately we could not longer go and stay with Fabi and Gustav as we had to get the keys for our Rio place the day we had planned to, boo! Hopefully though we will see them in the UK one day but we will definitely be back to Brazil for sure on world trip number 3 ha ha!! The thought though of being back in that hotel in the old part of Sao Paulo was too much to bear so we booked into the cheapest holiday inn we could find and for safety purposes thanked MasterCard, especially as we were arriving at 9pm at night!! In the eve the square was packed, it was beautiful, all the Xmas lights were flashing, bands were playing and people were sitting outside drinking beer and eating it was beautiful. So weird though to see Xmas trees and be in such a hot climate, it really hasn't hit me and Adam yet that it is Xmas in exactly 2 weeks!!!! Then to bed it was in preparation for another 4 hour flight the next day, totally bust I was asleep at 8.30pm and left Ads to stay up!
