Hi Guys,

Thought I would add my first entry! I have finally arrived here in New York. I cant believe how quickly this has come round and I am sitting in a hostel trying to get my bearings and wondering what to do next!

We had an emotional farewell this morning and I was sent on my way, can you believe I didnt have any trouble and who would of thought they would let me into the country! Hee Hee!

Flight was good and even had bangers and mash and chocolate cake for desert, it was a bit dodgy but you have to give to BA!

It was suprising easy to get from the airport to the city, I managed to get a bus, it was a bit like the bus out of Speed although we were not in a high speed chase and Keanu Reeves didnt come and rescue us! Not that he needed to! I departed at Grand Central Station and decided to walk to the hostel, needless to say that didnt last as my bag of DOOOOM was too heavy and I opted for a NY cab which was great fun!

Have arrived at the hostel now and checked in, I am in a room of 4 bunk beds, all girsl! Although I havent met any of them yet. The hostel is massive and has loads of rooms with pool table, lounge, laundry and garden, it even has a chapel!! It reminds me of a converted hospital but doesnt have the smell. There are loads of staff who are really friendly but I still need to get my bearings with it all.

I am here for two days before I start my tour so I am going to explore the city tomorrow! Oh Sara - I saw Tiffany's it looks very impressive but dont think I will be venturing in there!!

Anyway just thought I would let everyone know I was safe and well, it was a little daunting setting off and still is but I am quite strong at the moment and enjoying the challenge although that may change with a nights sleep in the dorm!! Hee Hee!!
