I just don't understand why people bother to have curtains at all when they let light in cos they are white. Awake at the crack of dawn due to light entering room and also cos I'm in the centre.
Didn't know what to do with myself knowing that I didn't have to get on my bike today. No breakfast included in this place so first stop Starbucks on the street corner, couldn't resist. After a large cappuccino and a cinnamon roll I felt more awake. I had googled bike shops in Vienna trying to find one that sells what I need. On my way to the store I passed many beautiful buildings of which I had to take photos. It was damn hot and I was already sweltering in the heat and also pleased that I wasn't on my bike considering the burnt shoulders.
I passed the Rathaus 'City Hall', passed many museums, universities and parliament. Then by chance I stumbled across the Spanish Riding School and the Hofburg area. Not enough time to appreciate what I was looking at but stunning buildings nevertheless. I was beginning to flake at this point, tiredness finally kicking in. I made my way back to the hostel and had a delightful siesta. Best sleep I've had in all the ten days I've been away.
After waking up raring to go I confronted my logistics situation. I sat down and went through everything that I have used and not used in the past ten days and decided to pack up the latter and send it back to Spain. I might be back before it gets there but I don't care. I might, just might be able to dump the trailer when I arrive in Bratislava.
So the rest of the day was spent wondering around the centre looking for something Viennese to eat. Had a good dinner and a wonderful dessert of Kaiserschwarm and plum compote. Thundering and raining again, everyday without fail so far.
So tomorrow off to start the third stage of my trip into Slovakia. It's only 65km away so it should be an easy day plus I'm having another day off to sightsee when I am there. I'm getting lazy.......

Mathilde Siesta ! This is your Spanish part talking ! (well, sleeping actually) :D I love your blog, Aunty, keep it going, and pleeeaaase, do not say you are starting to get lazy, it is such nonsense. In fact, I don't even understand how you can still be walking properly after all this biking. Surely your bottom must have changed its shape because of the saddle. Has it ? =D
