10/08/2011 Day 1. Get to ze ferry!

Me and Dave got a lift to Newcastle from his Dad, accompanied by his Mum. We went via Thirsk, Yorkshire. Apparently there is a good chippy there! We went to this chippy and it was brill, I was gifted with mince pie, chips and gravy. And then away to The Royal Quays, Newcastle.
Met Aaron and Nick at the port an got aboard the ferry. The gangway was broken so we had to get on where the cars get on. We were a tad shocked when we were led below the car deck to our cabin! We spent the afternoon viewing from the top deck and in the club. There was a live band playing all night, they were alright too.

11/08/2011 Day 2. Amsterdam

Got in the port at 9.30ish. Jumped on the shuttlebus to Amsterdam. Landed at Amsterdam central station. Observations: no hills and about 10000000 bicycles, I've never seen so many in my life. Short walk down some streets to the hostel and met up with Sam Edwards, wooo. Signed into the hostel and went to the room. 4 bunkbeds, nice and tidy, no complaints. Went for a walk around the streets at about 11am to get some bearings and then headed into a bar for a nice cold pint! After a couple of pints headed to a "funky" coffee shop for some of the acclaimed Amsterdam marijuana. All smoked except Sam E, he had a cake though. Played some pool and felt furry and bouncy :p.
The time come for a wander around the Red Light District. Brilliant time! Could have walked those streets for the rest of my life. It was horrible when you looked them up and they were looking at you. It made me feel well guilty!! Went to bed in the hostel and slept like a baby, weed may have had something to do with that.
