10/09/11 Day 32. Bruges, Belgium
We arrived at the carpark that was our campsite, right by the centre of Bruges at about 2.30pm. We headed straight in for a mooch as we only had that one day there. It was a surreal place that looked really old and medieval. We saw a few clocktowers and things, a set used for the film, In Bruges. Nipped back to the camper to get some feed and prepare to do our own pub crawl of Bruges to sample the wide selection of Belgian beers. The places we went had menus of beers because there were that many, around 300 beers in each. The big one though, the rarest was a beer called Westvleteren that isn't brewed commercially, so we were lucky to get some, and for 9 euros a bottle, stung too! I managed to find a beer of 11.5% alcohol so I got me and Dave one of those. We saw a club that looked busy and good, inside though we felt like were in a youth club, all the people (kids) in there must have been under 17. In the final place we went to, I had a 12% beer with Aaron, it was really nice and so different to what we get in England. Me, Nick and Aaron took a wrong turning home so made the journey 100% longer. We got a recording of Aaron's drunk rant/mumblings when he got in .... HILARIOUS!!
