Early start this morning as we were checking out of the hostel and moving onto Chris and Mandy's, Mikes godparents. We had so many bags to lug around as we've accumulated cool bags and bowls, cups etc, a lot of stuff for christmas and new year, however it looked a little excessive between 4 backpackers! Although I didn't really know what the plan was at the start of the day it turned out to be a very good one. Carols in the domain was amazing! The sun was shining and it was very hot, we joined 40,000 other people in the park and got our spot early! It was packed and apparently a very big event with Australian celebs and it was all televised from 7.30 pm! We arrived about midday and had an afternoon chilling on the beach towels with drinks and snacks. Everything...

Yesterday we had an enjoyable day out on the famous Bondi. It was a very hot day but there was a nice breeze around and we had a very refreshing dip in the sea, not going out too deep in fear of sharks! Lots of people were swimming though and with some big waves it was a good fun. We played French cricket with a bat and ball that kept us all entertained for sometime, browsed the gift shops and walked along to the pools for an icecream- mr whippy dipped in chocola...

Last couple of days have been good, we had a very good thai for lunch before we headed into the city to sort out Amy's Medicare stuff via the botanic gardens, which on a hot day were lovely. We got some great views over the opera house and Sydney harbour bridge and found our spot for new year, very exciting! They're advertising new year all over the city with the theme of shine so looking forward to seeing how that will be portrayed. I love fireworks so I'm sure ...

We were up a little earlier today. Our day consisted of getting on a double decker train into Central Sydney to buy some shorts and trainers, having a hard session for free in the gym for the first time in 3 months, and watching choirs and singers outside St Mary's cathedral before a christmas nativity light show. It was so good and felt very Christmassy apart from being sat outside in shorts and a T-shirt as it was getting dark!
