Although I didn't really know what the plan was at the start of the day it turned out to be a very good one.
Carols in the domain was amazing! The sun was shining and it was very hot, we joined 40,000 other people in the park and got our spot early! It was packed and apparently a very big event with Australian celebs and it was all televised from 7.30 pm! We arrived about midday and had an afternoon chilling on the beach towels with drinks and snacks. Everything started kicking off about 7 and the carols and christmas songs started on the stage. The performers were brilliant and some big names were involved, we saw dani Minogue and had messages from cliff richard and Ronan Keating among others. Woolworths (local supermarket) sold $15 bags of goodies worth $100 all for the Salvation Army, we picked up 2 between us and got candles and candle holders along with most other people in the audience. As it got darker the candles were lit and a glow covered the park, it was lovely, I'm sure it would be glow sticks in a health and safety mad uk! We had a great dance and sing song and some amazing fireworks were sent off towards the end! Such a good day and night, singing about a white christmas and 'it's beginning to look a lot like christmas' was bizarre in the heat while being in just a beach dress!
