Today was Cambodias 60th anniversary of independence, we were woken up by big celebratory sounds of floats going past the independence monument. We headed out later on in the day into the crowds of people, there was a really good vibe amongst everyone out and about but the mass congestion of Tuk Tuks, bikes and cars was crazy! I'm glad we did it though, it's a big part of their history and important to know about. It was very shocking and even more shocking that it all happened about 40years ago (1975-1979). Our last day in Siem Reap was a biiiig admin day unfortunately, sat in front of a computer. Eventually we did get quite a lot sorted. Arrived in Phnom Penh safely yesterday. After about 3/4 hours sleep we picked up our ready made breakfast from the hotel to go and met our friendly Tuk-Tuk driver again at 5am. He got us to the temples quickly so we could try and get a good spot to watch the sunrise. People had told us it gets busy but at 5.30 there was literally crowds of hundreds of people fighting for the best picture spot!
