Opened door this morning to find a note to Ray + Hev, it was from the two young Korean girls who were staying in the room next to us, saying goodbye, it was very sweet of them.
Tried to get a boat to the island Temple, but again it was very busy and the football tournament was still on, so will try early tomorrow morning.
Decided to walk to the other side of the lake, towards the dam. This used to be the better area originally but now after all the expansion it's become a less favourable area.
We we arrived at the dam where there was a security guard on duty, who allowed us to enter what was once a small park area with seats and steps leading down to the lake, but once again this was in a neglected state.
The view of the mountains os one of the best in Pokhara as it is not interrupted by hills or buildings, alas hardly any one comes here.
A couple of young boys were fishing with bamboo sticks, line and hooks, they were catching little fish about 3cm long. I think Ray wad jealous as he has not seen any fish let alone caught any. I tell a lie we found a dead one the other day.
We pass many walls with broken glass or nails cemented into the top to deter trespassers and today saw a gate made out of old saw blades. Health and safety does not exist here. In some ways this is refreshing as it makes one more responsible for their actions.
We see cows all the time, they just amble along the roads , pavements or where ever they like, oblivious to what is going on around them. Today we saw a young calf suckling from its mother in the high street while the traffic whizzed by.
Discovered a small horticultural type place where they grow tomatoes, all under plastic constructions, very ramshackle compared to my old work place he he. The tomatoes for sale in the markets and shops are always green or orange although the restaurants all use ripe ones.
After our long walk, decided we neede a lassi as a treat. Today l chose vanilla, it tasted like ice cream soda. My favourite is coconut but not many places have it.
