So it's time for another update to our travels. Sorry it has taken a while, but we've been busy girls. So busy in fact that this blog will have to whizz over the basics really, otherwise we'll be here for hours haha...
So, we arrived in Brisbane Saturday night and went to stay with Maddi and Ria (the Australian girls that Jo met when she was travelling Europe), and we had a night out in the city with some of their mates. We caught the Greyhound bus to Maryborough on Sunday to stay with Rachey B, it was so good to see her again and see where she has been living and working, and basically just experiencing her Aussie lifestyle. Pretty sweet really! She took us to feed the wild dolphins at Tin Can Bay, and then we visited Rainbow beach and the gorgeous Carlo Sandblow - a massive sand dune the other side of a rainforest walk. We then checked out Hervey Bay (lots of driving around today!).
The following day was Heather's birthday (the big 2-2) so in celebratory style, we went for a bbq in Woodgate National Park after seeing the kangaroos hopping and grazing in peoples front yards, and sightseeing in Maryborough. Did you know this is where Mary Poppins was created?! we met the woman herself...well the statue of her i mean. and treated ourselves to some delicious Fudge from Mary Delicious.
We headed back to Brisbane and back to stay with the Aussies. We checked out Soutpbank Beach and tucked into homemade dinner with the family and Jonno (the Aussle guy that Jo met in Europe). The following day was Jo's birthday so we headed to Mount Tamborine for some rainforest adventures and a bbq (where we were harrassed by a Guana who wanted our tastey hot dogs!). We went to the Gold Class cinema that evening to see 'Knowing', where we were treated to FREE tickets and FOOD, it's good to have contacts ;) hehehe.
Australia Zoo was on the agenda for the next day, really great place! lots of space and well looked after. After some sightseeing the local area we got the train back into the City to stay in the hostel for the night, because we had a very early bus to catch, onto Noosa.
We had a goodbye meal and night out in the West End in Brisbane with loads of the people we'd met over the past few days, so that was loads of fun - as i'm sure you can see from our photos!
We had a few problems again...we managed to book the wrong day at a hostel in Mooloolaba, and by the time we'd realised, it was fully booked. so we then had to rush about trying to change our bus to go straight to Noosa and get accomodation. OOOPS we are good at causing problems for ourselves aren't we!
Anyways, just realised i have completely babbled on...so much for whizzing through hey, but hope we've not bored you!
Love us xxxxx
